So it is with great excitement that we here at Boyd's were glad to learn Spangler, a company that used to sit in downtown Toledo and is now just a short drive out to Bryan, Ohio was the successful bidder in the NECCO Bankruptcy auction on Wednesday, May 23rd.

The move makes so much sense as land is expensive in Revere, MA and is more affordable in Bryan, Ohio. If you've ever taken the tour of Spangler, you know what an impressive plant the Spangler factory is. Clean, efficient, and filled with people who love to make candy. This will assure all the Necco fans, be they wafer lovers or Clark bar lovers, or Squirrel Nut Zipper addicts, these candies that are the love of generations will still be around for years to come.

All participants will receive an “I’ve Been Bean Boozled" Sticker

Participants must spin the wheel and eat the bean the pointer lands on to enter the drawing.

Participants may only put their name in the drawing once and receive only one sticker.

Beans and stickers will be given out while supplies last.

Participants may spin the wheel and try as many beans as they wish, taking turns with all willing participants, but additional spins and taste challenges will not entitle participants to additional entries.

So Summer is here and so are some new arrivals! New in the store are the "Formula Sour" test tube candy. You think Toxic Waste and War Heads were sour? This new sour liquid is not only twice as sour but it also has a tingling zap to the tongue as well. More a Toxic Waste fan? The new Smog Balls may be of more interest. These candies are not hard like jawbreakers but are a crunchie candy. Beware it is really easy to eat a whole pack before you may regret what you've just done! On the sweeter side of new candies are the new Wax Lips due out for Halloween but we have the early releases in store already! These are monstrously colored in Orange(orange) - Green(apple) - Yellow(lemon) - Purple(grape) - Blue(blueberry). All of our new arrivals are available in-store now so come on in, say hi, cool-off, and eat some candy with us!

With Valentines Day just around the corner, thoughts of loved ones, kindled spirits and those special someones are already starting to stir in us. Even though here at Boyd's we have had a pretty mild winter thus far, most of us wouldn't mind if mother nature made a miss of winter all together. That means with spring in the air we find ourselves looking to show that special someone how much we care about them.

With less than two weeks before Ol' Saint Nick makes his rounds, stocking stuffers seem to be the last minute items on our "to do lists". Here at Boyd's we are aware of the crunch and have collected great last-minute gift ideas and stocking stuffers. Just to name a few of our candies this year: Gold & Silver Coins, Candy Sticks, Filled Hard Candies, Sugar Plums and even Mint Filled Straws! So whether you are getting a special treat or looking to decorate your dinner table, we have the sweet treats to make your Christmas memorable, after all Boyd's is:

I don't know about your family but my family goes all out. Two turkeys one fried one baked, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and ham gravy, sweet potatoes and corn bread. Though, once our bellies are full and we have gotten some football and parade naps in, it's time for pies cookies and sweets.

Pie and cake are great but the holiday candy is what makes It look and feel like a holiday. With many wrapped and dish candies, putting a fantastic and colorful spread together just got that easy! As the holidays are at our doorstep with family and friends; I can't help but remember all the holidays at my family's homes. As someone who loves the Pies, Cookies and Sweet treats, I get excited as I see all the new holiday and returning holiday candies. Let me share what we have this season!

We have "Mint Filled Straws" but they are very popular this time of year and once they are gone they will not be back until the next holiday season. 

We have "Sugar Plums" most commonly heard of from the "Night Before Christmas" story, these Gummi-candies are a light flavoring of plum then tumbled in soft sugar. 

A Candy Corn fanatic? So are we! We have candy corn in the fantastic flavors; Original, Indian, Caramel Apple, Cinnamon, Blackberry Cobbler, S'mores, Reindeer, and Pastel.
